KATIE BASKIN

I have been learning Java since September, 2019 and everyday presents a new exciting puzzle to build and analyze. There is no better feeling than when you complete a project! This is exactly why I decided to change careers. After graduating with honors from Northwood University with a BBA and a dual major of Business Management and Fashion Marketing Management, I worked for The Met Hotel running the sales and event planning department. . From there I transitioned to The Salvation Army where I developed many of my professional skills, such as my communication skills, being detail oriented, and the ability to multi-task. Over my 4 years at The Salvation Army Eastern Michigan Divisional headquarters, I held a few positions there, with a couple of promotions. For the past 4 years, I helped oversee The Salvation Army's $2.5 million Red Kettle Campaign during the holiday season and managed numerous fundraising events all year around. All of my past business and work experiences will complement my Java knowledge and technical skills as I pursue my passion for continued learning.
